Designed to assist those who use the standards to review permit applications, inspect and enforce building regulations. This course will familiarize participants with a mid-level coverage of the 2016 Energy Standards, from the vantage point of the residential & nonresidential building envelope; topics will include: new construction, additions & alterations. The course will also include an overview of fenestration and mechanical systems in nonresidential buildings. Upon completion, participants will be better able to: identify forms needed for the envelope and quickly develop a review path appropriate to given projects; recognize what to look for in checking compliance forms both in plans check and inspection; identify mandatory prescriptive and performance requirements; understand the purpose and boundaries of the registry and 3rd party verifiers. |
CREDITS: This course approved for on-going education hours. A certificate of continuing education will be provided at the conclusion of class.
SPEAKER: Russ King, Vice President of Energy Efficiency Services has developed innovative systems & methods to improve building efficiency through better codes, code training & HVAC design & optimization.
