Minutes of July 1st, 2009

CALL TO ORDER
President Darrell Mayes called the meeting of the Napa/Solano Chapter of ICC to order.  

ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS
President Darrell Mayes – present, Vice President Dan Kavarian – present,

Secretary Gary West – present, Treasurer Gene Ashdown – present.  

INTRODUCTIONS
Self introductions were made by attendees. Meeting was adjourned for dinner by President Darrell Mayes.  

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
The meeting was called to order from adjournment by President Darrell Mayes. Motion was made to approve the minutes from the June 3rd, 2009, meeting as submitted. No discussion or corrections were noted. Motion was second, and approved.  

SPEAKER OF THE EVENING
Simpson Strong-tie representatives Mike Wright, and associates discussed their new Strong Frame designs. They covered many of the requirements, Benefits, installation, speed and ease of their produces.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
There will not be an August 5^th Meeting due to the Napa/Solano ICC Chapter Picnic.

The Chapter picnic is scheduled for August 21^st at Pena Adobe Park in Vacaville. The picnic is a pot luck event with the chapter buying the meat to BBQ. We will be creating a list of people and food items that are being brought.  

CORRESPONDENCE
None  

INSPECTOR TIME
Gary West – Change in plumbing code involving moister and sediment traps on gas lines. A show of hands was asked for to see how many jurisdictions were aware and what they are enforcing. Three jurisdictions were using the manufacture installation guidelines.  

Harvey Higgs – brought up Build-it-green nonprofit –v- standard code adoptions.  

COMMITTEE REPORT  

·         Education  

July 28^th – Training on energy and enforcement for counter tech’s, plan reviewer, and inspectors.

            August 4-5 – CASp training will be hold in woodland.  

·         Treasurer  

Gene Ashdown – Gene reported the revenue balances for the chapter’s different accounts.  

·         CALBO  

      Jay reported of the upcoming meeting on July 17^th in San Diego.  

·         Building Standards  

Steve Jenson will report on upcoming meeting.  

·         Standard Details  

None  

·         2011 ABM  

Harvey Higgs reported that he would like to schedule a meeting on a Friday Night to discuss some of the details of the 2011 ABM. We will need people to help and be part of the committee.  

E-mail Harvey at the City of Benicia to be part of the biggest and most exciting opportunity that has been available in Northern California in many years. This will be an unforgettable experience for everyone who can participate. The smallest contribution of time will be greatly appreciated. OLD BUSINESS
None  

NEW BUSINESS
Upcoming code development meeting and annual conference is being held in Baltimore, Maryland. A motion was made to have the Napa/Solano chapter of ICC sent the current President to the conference. There was discussion and a Second. A vote of the chapter body approved the motion.
